Not that 33°C is overly hot or anything, but nonetheless, it was a bit of a fizzer, especially after my little incident down at the shit plant. Yep, the local shit plant…
Well, it really wasn’t that much of a big deal but nobody likes causing damage at work. It’s not the act that is the worse part. It’s the owning up and dealing with the aftermath that is the issue.
Sooo…. What Happened?
Glad you asked!
Now, I don’t know too much about these containers, (or else I wouldn’t have done what I did) but when I got to site to pick up the container, I noticed that there was a large black hose attached to it, so I got out and disconnected it.
Little did I know, there was a pesky electrical wire that had to be disconnected prior to pulling out to which I was unawares of (I think we can see where this is going…) and I proceed to use the truck to drag the container out, so I could load it onto the truck, which I do.
As I leave site and start to drive down the road to go and unload it, I notice a couple of electrical cables hanging off the side of the container blowing in the warm summer air, and I think to myself, “hmmm, I don’t remember those there last time I did this job…”
It was whilst inspecting the wires at the disposal site I suspect that I may have made a “boo boo” to which was confirmed when I return to site and see the other end of the plug still stuck in the socket. Ooopsy…
At that point there is 2 choices. 1. Pretend nothing happened and go about the rest of your day or 2. Make the call that no one likes to make. The one where you admit you f**ked up!
Knowing that option 1 rarely pays off, I went with option 2 and made the call of shame… shit happens, I guess, but it’s not what you want, especially on a Friday.
I Thought This Blog Meant To Be About Fasting?
Fair point, but when there is more important things going on other than “I didn’t eat again today”, then I gotta get it off my chest.
OK, to get back on track…..
This amount is more than I had drank for this time of day compared to the last 3 days, and my workload had not been any more physical than previous days, but obviously my body wanted more fluids today.
I can’t stress enough, if you are going through an extended fast to constantly keep sipping away at water and making sure to stay hydrated. If you allow yourself to become dehydrated, this can cause damage to your kidneys.
Water helps keep everything moving and flushing out your system. It helps ALL of your organs. Just do it!
The Juice Master
So what marvelous juice was on the agenda today, you ask? Well considering that I haven’t bought any new ingredients for the in last 4 days, the juice was pretty much another variation on what I have used already in previous juices, with an emphasis on getting rid of the silverbeet, because it was beginning to look a little wilted.
The concoction was made up of strawberries, apples, pear, oranges, celery, silverbeet, cucumber with some lemon and lime, which I think I will call “The Manga” Not really sure why, but who knows why I do anything?
The Manga was another tasty beast that made me feel warm inside (not really) and helped me get through another day without eating.
Temptations…
The only hard thing about this so far this week has been the times at home where there has been food around, such as tonight when my partner done some shopping and came home with a cooked pork and other delightful foods and it smelt so good.
It almost makes me want to break my fast and enjoy a feed but I tell myself to stick to the plan. There will be plenty of time for that. Stay with it and think of the bigger picture, I tell myself…
