It was a nice day to set out and get the lawns mowed today before some forecast rain hits later this week and puts that plan to bed.
Now, I don’t know about what your dog does when it’s lawn mowing time, but mine seems to have somewhat of a bad habit. Well, I see it as bad anyway. He probably doesn’t.
Uncomfortable Situation
My dog, Erik, makes me feel very uncomfortable whilst I am trying to maintain his yard by looking for the nearest stuffed toy and humping it.
I don’t know whether it just seems to be a coincidence that I happen to mow during his personal time or that he really likes to watch me work!
Either way, yard duties quickly become awkward…
What To Do?
In this situation, I am two minds. Do I try to ignore it and let him finish? I mean, I am in his yard and its not like he is able to go to his own room for privacy.
Or do I yell at him or throw something at him to stop?
After the first glance, I try to ignore it and keep mowing. But I can still see him out the side of my eye and I know what’s going on. I glance back over and he is looking straight at me whilst he is doing it! That’s IT!
“ERIK, QUIT IT!!” I yell, and he dismounts the stuffed penguin sheepishly.
I couldn’t help but record his shame….
I feel slightly guilty about not letting him get the job done but I also wonder whether the penguin has actually consented to any of this.
Yard Work Out
After my fairly big run last night, I am actually feeling a bit of muscle soreness today, so this makes pushing the mower around just that little bit harder, however, the Fitbit recognizes my elevated heart rate and registers this time as exercise.
Unfortunately, the Fitbit was not quite clever enough to know exactly what I was doing, so it labeled my exercise as “Outdoor Bike.”
Well, I was outside and I was using an item with wheels, so I’ll let accept it on technicality. It’s definitely handy to know the amount of calories I burnt whilst outdoor biking, that’s for sure..
Bloody Inconvenience
Prior to all of this lawn activity, I was supposed to get a blood test in the morning. There is nothing wrong with me, I just wanted a check up due to being on the Keto diet for nearly 3 months.
Before beginning the diet, the doctor thought that it may be a good idea to get a blood test to check where I am at and then to get another in a couple of months to monitor any changes and see if there are any deficiencies due to the diet.
So, I went to do this and the woman told me that I was supposed to fast before the test. I probably would have done this, but last time I had the test I was told not to fast, so I assumed it would be the same this time. I wish they would make up their mind!
That being said, I’m aware that a fasting or non-fasting blood test can give different results and some of the new tests that I am about to get may differ from the previous tests, so I may not be able to compare all the differences properly.
I guess the main thing is that I am healthy.

Day 10 Round Up
There was a 0.5kg (1.1lb) drop from yesterday which was nice to see, so my old friend “Sticky” (scales) lives to fight another day. I had threatened to throw him out the window yesterday if he didn’t give me a good result today.
As I am into the second week of my 5/2 intermittent fasting pattern and I am required to fast for 10-12 hrs before my blood test, I have decided that I will continue this fast for 24hrs from 6pm tonight (Wed) to 6pm tomorrow night (Thu) to make up my 2nd fast day for the week.
I am certainly curious to see the outcome of this blood test, due to the diet. Hopefully, there are no issues.
