Keto & Intermittent Fasting For 2 Weeks – Day 11 – Fast Day (4)

Today is the 4th and final 24hr fast day of my 2 week intermittent fasting experiment and to be honest I wasn’t really up for it, but the problem with me is that when I set of my mind on something and I don’t do it, I get a bit disappointed in myself, so I’m just gonna suck it up.

I decided to fit the fast day in today because I am due for a blood test today and I need to fast for 10-12hrs, so I just thought that I would continue on from there until 6pm tonight to make up the 24hrs

Smashin’ The Waters

I woke up feeling a bit parched and though I might be a bit dehydrated and this is not ideal going into a blood test, so I drank about a litre and a half of water from the time I left home and dropped the kids off, to the time I got to the pathology joint.

I also did this because the last test I did there, I had to pee in a cup and didn’t have much in the old pee tank. This time though, I could barely hold it in!

Slow Drain

She jabs me with the needle and I’m watching the blood go into the vial and its just trickling in slowly. I’m thinking to myself, maybe I have low blood pressure or something so I ask why it’s going so slow.

She tells me that she used a smaller needle or something and that’s why. Yeah… righto…. you know what they say about small needles, hey?

My blood looks darker than usual in the vial and I tell myself that it”s just darker because it’s filled with extra goodness. This thought helps me get through the day.

Run Down Day

Around the time I get back home and try to work on this site, I realize that I am feeling quite tired and drowsy. I thought maybe I didn’t have a good night’s sleep last night, but I check the Sleep Score on of my Fitbit from last night and it says “Good.” Not “Great,” just “Good…”

Fitbit Sleep Score

Good is OK isn’t it? No. It’s Good…

I also realize that of my Fitbit has given me a sleep insight letting me know that I may not be getting enough sleep during the week. Probably true. I’m usually happy with about 6hrs a night.

Fitbit Sleep Insight

So if I got enough sleep, then why am I so tired today?

Ohhh…. yeah…. I just had blood taken out and I haven’t eaten for 15hrs by this time.

Maybe fasting after the removal of blood is not a great idea? But what’s the worst that can happen, hey?

Poison The Weeds

I knew that I was very hydrated because I was peeing like a fountain, but I really did not have any energy for most of the day and was quite tired. I got out in the yard around midday and started poisoning the weeds around the edge of the house in the hope that this activity would wake me up a bit.

It did me good, but I still didn’t really get my energy back and just limped through the rest of the day, where I began to anticipate dinner.

Beans Make A Comeback

Two days ago, I discovered that I really like green beans now, so I decided to get some to have with of my fish tonight. I can safely say that I still really like them and I think they will be become a regular part of of my diet. That’s a win for the bean farmers!

I thought about either going for a run or a gym session tonight too, but after having a kick of the football out the front with of my son, I crashed out on the couch for about an hour. Certainly a low energy day today…

Carbs consumed: 27g (14.8%)

Day 11 Round Up

I’ve had to update yesterday’s calorie deficit stats, due to a late Fitbit syncing. Turns out that the calorie deficit for yesterday was 2,372 Cal!

You would think that with a calorie deficit that big there would be fair weight loss, but I only dropped about 0.3kg (0.7lb) from yesterday morning.

I’m beginning to see that there is much more to weight loss than just “Calories In vs Calories Out.” I think I’ll explore this concept more at a later date though, when I conclude this 2 weeks of intermittent fasting and have had a chance to go through all the data.
