If you are unfamiliar where my tramampoline reference is from, I will leave a little clue just here…
However, I have covered the face of the main character so as not to infringe on any copyright laws.
Anyway, the reason for this reference is because we took the kids down to one of those trampoline death trap venues for a bit of fun today. They had a ball, but the diet took a bit of hit again.
Zero Keto Foods
We got there around 2pm and we had to wait for the next session to start in an hour, so we decided to get something to eat, however, there was literally not one thing on the menu that was Keto friendly.
But we were hungry, so decided to get some meat lovers pizza. Yes, the base was gluten free, but it was certainly not carb free. I had four slices of it. I was hungry, but I had plans to go to the gym later to work it off.
Blood Sugar Spike
No sooner had I consumed this pizza, I began to feel a bit jittery and yuck. I checked out my heart rate on my Fitbit and it was around 105-110bpm. I’m not an expert on this, but I assume that this has probably got something to do with a rise in blood sugar due to the large amount of carbs I just ate.
This elevated heart rate continued throughout most of the afternoon until we got home around 5pm. From eating that pizza, I can already see how this is going to affect my weigh-in tomorrow, as the extra carbs from today will cause some water retention.
For every gram of carbohydrate stored in your body, as glycogen, around 2-3 grams of water is retained. It’s hard to know exactly how many carbs were in that pizza. At a guess, I’m gonna say 100 total for what I ate. This could potentially cause a little extra on the scales tomorrow. Possibly up to 0.5kg (1.1lb)…eek….
Calories Consumed
Despite eating the pizza, I was still able to stay below my calorie goal for the day and that isn’t even taking into consideration the Fitbit calorie adjustment of 799. Just like last Saturday night, the elevated heart rate confused my Fitbit into logging some of that time as “exercise” even though I wasn’t exactly that active today.
However, despite the fact that I ended up with a calorie deficit of around 1900, I know that this will not reflect too well on the scales tomorrow, but this should only be temporary. Damn you, tasty pizza!
Gym Fail
After getting home and eating dinner, I was really not feeling like going out to the gym or for a run, even though I knew that I really should have. It would have made for a good finish to my two week experiment with this intermittent fasting routine, but oh well…

Day 14 Round Up
There was a slight weight drop from yesterday, but I’m expecting my pizza feast from today to affect my weight negatively tomorrow. Surprisingly, there were no major incidents at the trampoline place today either, which is unusual.
It’s not uncommon to see a crying child with and arm going at right angles the wrong way being led out by a paramedic, when you go to these places, but today was carnage-less.
Tomorrow, I will be looking at some of the data from the last couple of weeks and reflecting on some of the things that I have learnt from this 2 week experiment. It has been an interesting 14 days.
