Keto & Intermittent Fasting For 2 Weeks – Day 6 – Bad Day

Just for reference. I had already written today off (carb-wise) yesterday. The trivia night fundraiser deal was always gonna be a carb fest. Crackers and beer and just over-eating in general. I wasn’t about to try and calculate the macros on this night.

I’m just gonna take it on the chin (gut) and move on.

Before today, my daily calorie consumption average this week is 1,052. That is around 1,500 less calories per day than what my max calorie goal is. A bad night is not gonna hurt me in the long run.

Being Saturday, I’m already 7,500 calories below what I need to be to lose weight for the week. Which I have.

Yeah, I ate too much and I drank beer all night, but it was a fun night and I don’t care that I over-indulged. I will pick back up and move along.

The point is that I am aware of where I am and where I want to go. I have control and perspective and I am critical of my choices.

I never used to care, but now I do and I can see and feel the difference in that. I still have goals and because of this, I will deal with it and push on.

Keto Friendly

Apart from the beer and some of the crackers much of the foods on our table were Keto-friendly  so I didn’t eat too badly, but I would say that I probably over-ate one this occasion.

Once in a while is not going to hurt me.

Moving On..

This morning I jumped on “Sticky” (see Day 5) and was about 0.5kgs (1.1lb) less than yesterday. Which I am happy with, of course, but i am not feeling this to be an accurate reading as I had indulged in a few Friday night brewskies and I have found that being “on the piss”  doesn’t result in accurate weight measurement.

Day 6 Round Up

I’ve had an OK day. I didn’t eat very much during the day, but I ate a fair bit at the function, and drank a fair bit too, which was what I was planning to do anyway.

At this point though, I am still winning the battle.

Turns out Drunk Stevie got online and blogged to give Sober(er) Stevie something to review in the morning.

Sober Stevie (me) has had a chance to review the night and look at some of my Fitbit data to see some interesting results.

The pic below shows that my heart rate was elevated for the majority of the day (12pm-5pm) which would reflect truly, as I was quite active throughout the day, but from 7pm onward, I was just sitting at a table eating and drinking beer.

Fitbit Heart Rate

My heart rate was hanging around the 95-100 bpm range for most of the night, which actually puts me in the “fat burn” zone, where (according to the experts) this is the heart rate intensity where most of the calories are burnt through fat.

The Exercise Of Drinking Beer

Because of the raised heart rate, my poor little confused Fitbit considered my activities as exercise and calculated calories burnt as a whopping 1,976 Cal.

Turns out the beer drinking and over-eating was raising my heart rate enough for me to burn fat! However, considering that I did not count my calories last night, I highly doubt that I would of burnt more than I consumed.

MyFitnessPal Calories

The data from my Fitbit has synced with MyFitnessPal and it’s really thrown my daily average out of whack. A calorie deficit of around 1,000 was recorded for Saturday, but this is obviously inaccurate. 10 beers alone is over 1,000 calories and I would of had at least that.

I wonder how “Sticky” is gonna feel about this…..
